DURAS

The typically French town of Duras is situated 8km from Loubes Bernac. The focal point of the town is the château which was bought by the commune in the 1960's and has almost been fully restored.

It is open to the public  throughout the spring, summer and autumn and hosts many functions including wine tasting festivals, concerts and medieval re-enactments, including jousting.

Duras boasts two bars and several restaurants, all catering for different tastes. Two bakeries exist in the town and a number of shops for supplies, including a Carrefour Market.

If you're a chocolate lover, be sure to visit the chocolate factory, Maison Guinguet, which produces exquisite hand made chocolates.

If you're looking for something more to do in the area, the tourist office in Duras is worth a visit.

Market day is on a Monday.

Duras night market (July & August) is on a Thursday.
